Ari Vélez Olivera (they/them;he/his)

Interpreter, translator, copyeditor, and proofreader at Polífona. Ari holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s degree in development studies and art curation. Ari has over 10 years of experience in editing and translating texts (Spanish/English/Spanish) in the fields of social and agricultural sciences, human rights, and climate change. He has 5 years of experience in interpretation with the language combination Spanish (A) and English (B).

Angélica Gómez (she/her;they/them)

Translator, copyeditor and proofreader at Polífona. She holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's degree in the history and theory of art, architecture and the city. She has over 10 years' experience teaching visual studies and the history and theory of art. She has also worked as a copyeditor, proofreader, and translator (Spanish/English/Spanish) in the fields of social and agricultural sciences, human rights, communication, grassroots organising, cultural management, art, and culture for over eight years.

Adriana Sánchez (she/her)

Interpreter, translator, and teacher at Polífona. Adriana has a background in literary studies, a master’s degree in literature, and a Ph.D. in translation studies, and teaching experience in the fields of literary and Latin American studies. In addition, she has been translating specialized and literary texts since 2007 and has served as a certified translator since 2016. For the past four years, she has worked as an interpreter in the language combination Spanish (A) and Portuguese (B).  

Blandine Juchs (she/her)

Blandine is an interpreter at Polífona and a sociologist who specializes in critical theory. She has been a conference interpreter for over 10 years. Her professional practice has focused on the fields of human rights, climate change, peacebuilding, and international law. Her language combination is French (A), Spanish (B), and English (B).

Isabel Rikkers (she/her)

Interpreter, translator, and teacher at Polífona. Isabel is a sociologist and has been working in translation and interpretation for over 10 years. She is particularly interested in labor issues, human rights, and climate change. Her language combination is Spanish (A) and English (A).

Selene Cruz (she/her)

Translator, interpreter, and teacher at Polífona. She holds a bachelor’s degree in modern languages and a master’s degree in educational and social development. Selene has over 8 years of experience as a language instructor, translator, and interpreter in fields such as peacebuilding, the environment, and conflict resolution. Her language combination is Spanish (A), English (B), and German (C). 

Silvia Quintero (she/her)

Translator and interpreter at Polífona. Silvia is a lawyer with a master’s degree in visual arts. She has focused her professional career and translation practice on human rights, gender, disability, and deprivation of liberty. She has five years of experience in translation and interpretation. Her language combination is Spanish (A) and English (B).

Florian Nordberg (he/him)

Interpreter and translator at Polífona. Florian is an engineer and has been working as a translator and interpreter for over 10 years in the fields of science and technology, social and climate justice, and human rights. He has a special passion for rural life. His language combination is French (A), Spanish (B), and English (C).
